COVID-19 Protocols
Bright Horizons have outlined our guidelines in the event of school closures or if a member of staff or a student tests positive for COVID-19. Though this document serves as a guide for the Center, please note that government directives supersede school plans.
The health of the staff and students of Bright Horizons Daycare and Preschool is a collective responsibility. Therefore, we encourage honest communication, the respect for confidentiality, and continued cooperation in following school and government protocols to keep each other safe.

1. When should a student not come to school?Children should not come to school if they are displaying or complaining of any medical issue. Children displaying flu like symptoms will not be allowed into school. Any child displaying such symptoms for more than 2-3 days should call or make a doctor's appointment and take their advice. Contact the school on 562-9786 / 775-5599 / [email protected] to inform us of the situation.
Children missing school for more than 3 consecutive days will need a doctor's note for clearance of physical health to return to school. |
2. A member of my household has been contacted by the government's contact tracing team for possibly having been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, but we all seem fine. Can my child still come to school?Students should not attend school at this time. Parents/guardians should be guided by the contact tracing team through the Ministry of Health on what to do. The school should be updated of the situation.

4. What should I do if my child or a member of my household tests positive for COVID-19.Children should not attend school while families are testing. Follow the instructions that are given by the Ministry of Health and inform the school. It is likely that your household will be expected to quarantine and undergo further testing.
The paper or electronic copy of the most recent negative test must be presented to the school office before the child can be admitted back to class. Although the school cannot demand tests results of the entire household, we encourage parents to only send their child to school when the entire household records negative results. |
5. How will Bright Horizons inform parents/guardians if a student or staff member has tested positive?
Bright Horizons will work closely with the government and follow their directives. The school will call, WhatsApp or send an email to update parents/guardians of any confirmed cases whilst maintaining confidentiality as far as possible. Students and staff who may have been close proximity with the positive case would be contacted separately.
|
6. What does the school intend to do if a student or staff member tests positive?Parents will be contacted and the school will immediately close for deep cleaning.
|
7. How long would the school likely close for and what would be expected of my family? If a student or staff member tests positive for COVID-19, Bright Horizons would likely close for 2 weeks. As long as there are no further confirmed cases or further government advice, we will then re-open.
|
8. How will learning continue for my child if the school must physically close? The school will implement a Distance Learning Plan (DLP). If students do not have essential texts and workbooks at home, it might be the case that one representative from each household would have to visit the school to pick up resources as not all learning will
